Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Bidya (“Bidya”, “we”, “our”) provides an AI-powered tutoring service for middle and high school students focused on mathematics. These Terms govern your access to and use of the website, applications, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

2. Accepting these Terms

By creating an account, accepting a parent's invitation, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

If you are creating an account on behalf of a child under the age of legal consent in your jurisdiction (under 13 in the United States under COPPA; under 18 in India under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act; varies in other jurisdictions), you represent that you are the child's parent or legal guardian and that you consent to the child's use of the Service and to the collection and processing of the child's data as described in the Privacy Policy.

3. Account types

3.1 Parent accounts

A parent or guardian creates a parent account using their own email address and password. The parent account holder is responsible for the use of the account, for any student profiles created under it, and for the conduct of children using those profiles.

3.2 Student profiles

A parent may create one or more student profiles. A student profile may have its own email and password (allowing the student to log in independently) or may be accessible only via the parent's session. The student profile is owned by the parent account that created it; the parent may detach, edit, or request deletion of the profile at any time.

3.3 Direct student accounts

Some accounts may have been created directly by a student using their own email. These accounts are subject to the same Terms. Where applicable law requires parental consent for the student's age, the student must obtain that consent before using the Service.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to harass, defame, or harm others, including other students.
  • Attempt to access another user's account or data without authorization.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or extract bulk content from the Service except as expressly permitted.
  • Submit content that violates intellectual property rights, contains malware, or is otherwise unlawful.
  • Use the Service to generate or distribute content for purposes unrelated to a student's own learning.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

5. Content and intellectual property

The Service teaches mathematics topics aligned with publicly available school curricula (such as the CBSE Class 6–8 math syllabus in India). All explanations, hints, walkthroughs, practice questions, figures, and audio narrations served by the Service are generated by Bidya and are owned by Bidya. You retain ownership of any text, images, or audio you submit to the Service.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial educational purposes. You may not redistribute, sell, or otherwise exploit Service content except as needed for the student's own learning.

6. AI-generated content

The Service uses large language models (LLMs) to generate explanations, hints, walkthroughs, and other learning content. AI output may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. We validate output before display and provide a “report this question” mechanism, but you should treat AI output as a learning aid, not as authoritative truth. Final answers in practice and quiz items are checked against a stored canonical answer; explanatory text is not.

7. Privacy and data

Our collection and use of data is described in the Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you acknowledge that data described there will be processed accordingly.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, NOR THAT AI-GENERATED CONTENT WILL BE FREE OF FACTUAL ERRORS.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL CONCEPT COACH BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR INR 1,000, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

10. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by detaching student profiles and contacting us to delete the parent account. We may suspend or terminate your access for violations of these Terms or applicable law. Upon termination, we will delete or anonymize your data as described in the Privacy Policy, subject to legal retention obligations.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll post the updated version here, bump the version string, and ask existing users to re-accept on their next sign-in if the change is material.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
